Does this course promote any particular theology or ideology?
No. In fact, OMNIA’s mission is to help bridge the divide that often exists within faith groups in an effort to discover common ground so that, together, we can draw on our collective strengths.

Do I have to adjust my schedule to attend classes?
Our online courses are “asynchronous,” meaning you work at your own pace and on your own schedule. The only exception to this will be a monthly live gathering via Zoom in which you can discuss questions and progress with the instructor and fellow peacemakers

Are there written assignments?
Absolutely! There will be both written and actual “field” assignments, designed to guide you through the actual process power-building. This “apprenticeship” approach is the best way to learn and install the principles that will build your power and effectiveness.

Rev. Dr. Shanta Premawardhana is the president of the OMNIA Institute for Contextual Leadership

Originally from Sri Lanka, Dr. Premawardhana is a pioneer in interreligious cooperation, conflict reconciliation, and movement building. From serving as senior pastor on the South Side of Chicago to directing international interreligious dialogue for the World Council of Churches in Geneva, his life’s work has been dedicated to turning diverse communities into organized forces for justice.

Shanta has worked alongside legendary leaders from peacemaker A.T. Ariaratne to US President Barack Obama. Now , in this course, Shanta brings this deep wealth of real-world, global experience straight to you—equipping you with the same tested tools he has used to awaken local leadership, bridge deep divides, and build measurable community power.
